 School of Performing Arts
George W. Bush Center for the Study of Stripping

Dear Dancer,

Thank you for your interest in the University of Texas at Austin School of Stripping.

Our conservatory program is taught by a professionally active faculty who are committed to the development of each student's earning potential. We believe that strong training in classical stripping and a variety of modern techniques is essential for today's exotic dancer. Students perform frequently their own work, faculty work, and work by visiting guest artists. Students do not major exclusively in pole-dancing, lap-dancing, or token booth dancing, rather each takes the complete program offering superlative technical and creative training. On our website you will find information about training in our school, interviews with current students, and some reviews of our performances. Additional materials are available upon request.

Sincerely,

Busty St. Claire, Chair

At the George W. Bush Center for the Study of Stripping, we use state-of-the-art teaching and training techniques to accelerate the learning process. Our center has pioneered the use of plastic, sticky-backed foot prints to diagram intricate dance steps. Several of these are shown below:

STRIP069  Stripping for the Non-Major
Stripping is great excercise, will assure that you're the life of the party and can pay your way through college with enough left over for drugs and tats.

STRIP150  Introduction to Lap Dancing
Fundamentals of technique, including the knee grind, bottom-bump, booby-rub and mock-oral. Multitasking skills are stressed to allow for cost-monitoring, bouncer checks, as well as maintaining a vapid stare. A prerequisite for "Happy Endings I" and "Moving on to Call-Girl 101."

STRIP250  Advanced Lap Dancing
Advanced techniques, negotiating skills and patter are part of this interactive class. Developing a false autobiography to create the illusion of a relationship while rubbing your face in a clients crotch is a key element of the program. The lab portion of the class includes judging friction of various pants materials, as well as providing the equivalent of manual stimulation with the elbow, shoulder, and foot.

STRIP380  Nonverbal Communication: The Psychological Significance of Eye Contact
Every dancer knows that the easiest method of getting the cash from the wallet to the G-string is eye contact. But why? The psychological basis for this phenomena and the importance of including eye contact and a big Kool-Aid smile into your choreography.

STRIP463  Anatomy for the Adult Performer
The course focuses on primary bones, joints, ligaments, and muscles relevant to erotic dancing, the physiology of breathing, and the body as a complex physical system to understand better how to prevent injuries and how to develop a full range of expression with safety and pleasure.

STRIP463  Analysis of the Classics of Modernism in Erotic Dance
The half-century from 1950 to 2000 saw an explosion of dissonance and complexity in erotic dance. The breaking down of the "wall" between performer and customer left dancers insecure, and they often compensated by creating systems of tremendous rigor not always apparent to the guy with the boner. This course will analyze in depth the progression of technique from the classic "bump and grind" to the modern introduction of pole and lap.
